A Busy Week

On Monday May 3rd, I am reading with the fabulous poet Camille Dungy here in Vancouver for the American Pediatric Association–a large captive audience–yay! On Tuesday May 4th, I am co-hosting a “Cross-Border Pollination” reading at W2 Storyeum at 7 p.m. On Wednesday, I’m joining a panel at VPL at 7:30 p.m. for Mother’s Day, hosted by Cathy Stonehouse and Cori Howard, and featuring me, Catherine Owen, Luanne Armstrong and Dorothy Woodend.

I have only posted once on this website since I got it, which is pitiful. I am hoping now that I’ve completed (finally, mostly, hopefully) my new poetry manuscript, I’ll be able to engage more with the world. It seems to be a process, for me, of shutting out the world followed by opening up and taking everything in. Not a very balanced way of living, but this is how I write.

    Hi Rachel,

Welcome back! If you’re still open and taking everything in, it would be great to hear about any workshops and courses you may be planning to lead in the near future.

Congrats on completing the new poetry manuscript.
